Hi! My name is Bismuth and I am the 5^th element in the Nitrogen group. I am a crystalline, white, brittle metal with a pinkish tinge. I am the most diamagnetic of all metals. My thermal conductivity is lower than any metal, besides mercury. I have a high electrical resistance. I also have the highest Hall effect of any metal (that is, the greatest increase in electrical resistance when placed in a magnetic field).

In Latin my name is: Bisemutum and in Greek it is: Wismuth probably meaning “white mass.” I was usually always confused in early times between tin and lead because of my resemblance to those elements. Claude Geoffroy showed in 1753 that I was distinct from these metals.

Hobbyist by my crystal form which is made in the laboratory because it is unseen in nature.I am heavy and I resemble arsenic and antimony. I am available commercially and I’m usually found in nature as bismite (Bi₂O₃), bismuthinite (Bi₂S₃), and bismutite [(BiO)₂CO₃]. I am generally made as a bi-product of zinc, lead, copper, tin, silver and gold plants. Lead-free compounds of my element are found in cosmetics and medical procedures.

Hi! My name is Antimony and I am the fourth element in the Nitrogen group. I am an extremely brittle metal with a flaky and crystalline texture. I have a metallic lustre and a bluish white color. I do not have reactivity to air at room temperature but, when heated with formations of white fumes I burn brilliantly. I am used in flame-proofing ceramics, a wide variety of alloys, rubber, electronic, enamels and ceramics.

One thing is that I am a poor conductor of heat and electricity. My compounds and I are very toxic elements and I am usually found with other minerals. You don’t need make me in a laboratory because I am commercially available.

I was founded by Tholden in 1450 and was only known to be a metal by the beginning of the 17^th century. No one is really sure on how my name came to be, but some people believe that it may have come from the Greek words “anti” and “monos” which approximately means “opposed to the solitude.”

Hi! My name is Arsenic and I am the third element in the Nitrogen Group. I have two solid medications: yellow, and grey or metallic. I am a steel grey, crystalline, semimetallic (metalloid), very brittle solid. I tarnish in air, and when heated rapidly oxidize to arsenous oxide which has a garlic odour. My compounds and I can also be a very poisonous elements. I can be used as herbicides, various alloys, insecticides and pesticides.

My name comes from a Persion work Zarnik (ÒÑäíÎ) meaing “yellow orpiment.” The Greek borrowed Zarnik and renamed it arsenikon. I have been used in Persia and many other places for a long time. I was frequently used for murder back then.

My friend Phosphorus and I are very similar; I substitute in for him many times because of all our similarities This sometimes causes Phosphorus to be poisonous too. I have been classified as toxic and dangerous to the environment in many places.

Hi! My name is Phosphorus, and I am another abundant crustal element. It comes from the Greek language phôs meaning "light", and phoros meaning "bearer”. I am found combined with oxygen and other elements in minerals known as phosphates. I occur in all living organisms. For example: the humans bones are made up of a calcium-phosphorus compound called hyrdoxyapatite. I am also a multivalent non-metal found in the nitrogen group.

In 1669, Germen alchemist Hennig Brand was working through a preparation of urine and he discovered me! He attempted to distill salts by evaporating urine, when this was happened a white material was produced. It glowed in the dark and burned brilliantly. That’s how I came in! Since them, that form of me has been used to describe substance that shine in the dark without burning.

The most significant compounds of my element is when I am with oxygen. More than 10 billion kilograms of phosphoric acid manufactured here in the US every year. My acid for is manufactured in fertilizers, detergents, and a host of other products. When I am diluted, I am used to give various soft drinks their tart or sour taste.

Hi! I'm Nitrogen, and I am the first element on the Nitrogen group. I make up approximately 80 percent of the Earth's atmosphere. I am a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas composed of N_2.I am also colorless and odorless in the form of liquid. Although I am essential to life, some organisms can use me directly because their molecules are not very reactive. Instead, most organisms rely on nitrogen compounds. In Nature, bacteria that live on the roots of certain plants convert atmospheric form of me into compounds on me. This process is called nitrogen fixation. I am the main component of plant fertilizers.

I form many important compounds like nitric acid, cyanides, amino acids and ammonias. I am a non-metal and my electronegativity is 3.0. I have 5 electrons in my outermost shell which means that If I have three more I would be stable.

I have many different nicknames. In Greek: Nitron [native soda] and in Latin: Nitrum. I was supposedly found by Daniel Rutherford in 1772 he called me noxorious air or fixed air. At the same time, I was studied by Joseph Priestly, Carl Wilhelm Scheele, and Henry Cavendish. They called me burnt air or phlogisticated air. Antoine Lavosier called me azote, which means “without life” because I was so inert.
